Hello.

I have been getting a new bathroom fitted and have to choose the shower. My builders have informed me that the pipes for the mixer are 150mm apart from the outside of each pipe. Every shower I look at is 150mm from the centre...Are the measurements the builder has taken posssible...I had always assumed that the size would be standard? Am I safe to buy shower mixer that is 150mm from centre to centre? I'm abroad just now so can't get round to the property to take the measurements myself.

Any advice greatfully recieved....

thanks

Almost all showers have 150mm centres.

It may be your builder is using the same measurement, but just using different terminology.

The pipes should be 150mm apart. This is normally referred to as "centre to centre", but the same figure can be arrived at by measuring from the right hand side of the left pipe to the right hand side of the right hand pipe.

Do you get my meaning?
