Cold water pressure, coming into the house

Hi Everyone

I just moved to a new place 3 months ago and there seems to be a problems with water system. 1930 Terraced house in Surrey.

The cold water pressure going into the house does not seem to be too too bad, however when I have 1 tap running cold or hot water and I open another tap in the house, the tap which was originally running first stops running water.

EXAMPLE:
1st - I turn on the tap in the kitchen sink.
2nd - I turn on the tap in the bathroom.
OUTCOME - The water coming out of the tap in the kitchen nearly stops (only a little bit of water comes out of the tap)

This means if someone is having a shower and another person is washing the dishes it all goes wrong.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Start with your mains stopcocks make sure the one in the street outside your house is fully on and the one inside ,they may be on but not fully open .
You could also check with your neighbors to see what there pressure and flow rates are like .
