Noisy Hot Water Pipes

When I turn on a hot water tap in the bathroom or the kitchen (all of them are mixer taps) once the water warms up there is a sort of rumbling noise in the pipes which stays until you turn the tap off.
Can anyone advise on what I need to do to stop this noise?
