Hi, im looking at moving a rad about 3m from an internal wall to the external wall. The problem i will have is removing all the required floorboards to extend/re-route pipework. I was looking at trying the PB barrier pipe with the pushfit fittings mainly for ease but i have never used this before. Has anyone used it on their installations? Is it suitable, is it good enough to do the job and is it more prone to leak?

Pex barrier pipe is becoming more and more common in all types of installation.

Some professional installers still shy away from using it because of past experiences with old style plastic and partly no matter how hard you try, the installation always seems to look DIY with big ugly fittings which is not what a tradesman wants to see.

The truth of the matter is modern plastic is now very good and quite suitable for domestic installations. I was "converted" about four years ago and although I always use copper where visible (neater and less prone to accidental damage) if the runs are in the least bit fiddly, I just reach straight for the plastic.
