Intermitent hot water

by VBix » Thu Feb 10, 2011 4:23 pm

My hot water sometimes doesn't get fully hot. Only started doing this past 3 weeks. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's always taken ages to get hot but now it's doing this too. Also, the heating goes off when I run a bath (always done this since having baxi combi boiler fitted 5 years ago), and if I run a bath I can't run any other taps in the house(again since having combi fitted). the only new thing is water not getting hot enough. Please help.

Combi boilers don't have the capacity to power the central heating and hot water at the same time. It's an either or situation. It would be unusual for the home owner to be aware of this because the heating would normally be off for only a few moments.

How long does it take to fill the bath then?

You can't run any other taps at the same time? Why?

Have you got a water pressure/flow problem? This might explain the inconsistency of the boiler performance.
