Expansion Tank - hot water constantly running

I have a gas fired aga boiler which runs my heating system. I have noticed over the last 2 weeks that there is warm water dribbling in to my expansion tank. Can anyone suggest the reason for this.

I think it is running constantly as it is a holiday cottage and I only get there the odd weekend.

Many thanks

Minder,
Either the pump needs turning down or you need to raise the height of the vent pipe.

Stoneyboy,

Thank you for your reply, I am there this weekend and will have a look. The system has been in for about 15 years but just had it serviced before christmas. There was so much rubbish came out the radiators it was unbelieveable.

Are all pumps speed adjustable..?

Thanks,

Minder

Yes, all heating circulators are adjustable. If your heating system is full of gunge it could do with being flushed out & a heating system cleanser added or something like a magnaclean (check out their website first). Both options will improve your boilers efficency.

My system was flushed out the end of last year....I am wondering if this has caused the pump to run more efficiently and causing the problem....Does that sound possible....?

Thanks..

Minder,
There's a good chance that whoever serviced the system turned up the pump - check this before doing anything else.
