I have noticed very recently that my cold water storage tank is filling extremely slowly. Slower than the water is being used.

Other cold water taps in the house run fine with high pressure. It's just the water tank in the loft that is filling real slowly. This has happened overnight so what could be the issue?

So after a process of elimination.

I removed the ball and valve unit from the cold water storage tank to see if the water from the inlet was running normally.... And it did, at full power. So I realised the issue was with the ball and valve unit, however it is only a year old.

So I disassembled it to find a very small stone stuck inside..... Culprit.

Reassembled unit and everything is working fine now.

Wife thinks I am a hero!
