FLOW & RETURN FROM MULTIFUEL STOVE

Hi
My question concerns the flow and return from a clip in boiler on a multifuel stove in a gravity fed system. I am aware that the pipes must be verticle from the stove and that is not a problem as far as the ceiling, but the hot water cylinder is not directly above the stove so there will be a requirement for the pipes to run horizontally for some of the distance when they reach the ceiling. Is it ok for pipes to run in this way without a pump. Thank you. David

I think it must be OK for the pipes to run as you suggest. My hot water cylinder is not directly above my boiler. The pipes rise vertically from the boiler to the kitchen ceiling then go horizontally for 6 feet above the kitchen window. They then go vertically through the bathroom before another 6 ft long horizontal section (at right angles to the first) in the loft to the cylinder.

Hope this helps.
