Hi,

I've just noticed that the stopcock on the riser main and the pipes around it are wet (no water on floor) ...there also seems to be mould growing on the pipes

the stopcock and pipes are cold....so could it just be condensation?

i keep opening the window to ventilate the utility room but the wife keeps shutting it moaning she's cold :/

You are very probably right and increasing ventilation might not improve matters much.

You could try lagging the pipe in insulation which could prevent the moist are from getting into contact with the cold pipe.

i've wrapped a sock around the stopcock (which is cold to the touch) to see if the moisture stops..would that help?

i'm just a bit concerned..i have the plumbing insurance from homeserve but i've been reading some really bad reviews about them :(
