Hey up guys,

Been decorating the living room today, when trying to remove the radiator the valve got twisted whilst attempting to undo the nut (my fault). I now have a leak where the pipe joins the inlet valve. Tightening the fitting has done nothing but i haven't got the radiator off yet as i still can't undo the nut and i don't want to twist it any further incase it makes the leak a massive problem.

What would your advise be?
Is the valve likely screwed?
Should be able to tighten the valve once its straight again and not have to worry? or am i going to have the drain the whole thing in which case i'll just call in someone to do it.

The leak is slow so i'm not to worried about it for now but its still a leak.

I should point out its about 3-5 degrees out. Nothing to drastic...

You need to drain the system, remove the valve and check the olive and pipework. It may be that the nut was overtightened in the first place, which doesn't leave any room for nipping up when/if a leak occurs. The pipework may be damaged/squashed by over tightening.

You may be able to use PTFE tape round the olive to re-make the joint successfully.
