Bath sealant has become discoloured

I have recently fitted a new bath in my home finishing the join between the bath and the wall tiles with ordinary mould resistant bathroom silicone.
For some reason small sections of the silicone has started turning a pinky red colour from the original white.
Has anyone any idea why this discolouration has occured so that I don't repeat the mistake when I replace the silicone seal? The bath and hence silicone has not been cleaned with anything unusually different from before I fitted the new bath.
