Moretti Concealed Shower Connection - What Pipe Size Fittings are Best?

by stevenc1603 » Tue Jan 27, 2015 3:53 pm

Hi All,

I have a new Moretti concealed shower that I want to fit.

It appears that the connections are 3/4" male threaded fittings which I have found, although need to double check they are not 1/2".

Assumming they are 3/4", is it better to fit 22mm supply pipes, or 15mm?

Cold supply is mains pressure and hot is from the combi-boiler so mains pressure (or thereabouts) also.

If I do need 22mm supply pipes, can I have a 15mm outlet to the shower head?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Hi Steve

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you'll find the connections are 1/2 BSP
anyway. So no problems.

Hi,

That had me hopeful so I went and bought 1/2" fittings. Unfortunately they are too small so they'll have to get swapped for 3/4" ones.

Any thoughts on best pipe sizes?

I know that the part of the shower that comes out of the wall with the showered attached is a 1/2" female fitting that I now have and that's 15mm on the other side so I guess I'll get a 3/4" to 15mm connector for the outlet side of the shower. Just need to know if its OK to run the inlets in 15mm or if it would be better to have 22mm?

Cheers,

Steve
