water hammer in central heating with expansion tank

I have a central heating system with expansion tank. When the pump turns off there can be a lot of water hammer. To minimise this I have turned the pump to its lowest flow rate. I was wondering whether a way of dealing with this problem would be to install a Water Hammer Shock Arrestor next to the pump. I just don't know if they're designed for central heating systems or not.
Thanks for any thoughts.
