Water Leaking From Under Bath After Moving to new Part of House

by BB55 » Wed Feb 08, 2017 12:14 am

Hi, I'm building an extension & ive moved my bathroom into the new part of the house. Plumber came and installed bath a few weeks ago and after finishing the tiling at the weekend I had my first bath in the new tub yesterday. All fine no issues.
However tonight my husband took a bath and we've realised there is water leaking under the bath. Luckily we haven't put the panel on yet so could see it.
As it didn't happen yesterday I think it's the waste. The bath was much fuller this time and reached the overflow waste thing. Trouble is I'm now panicking as we've installed the bath against the wall with the taps and a pop up plug (twist waste to operate) in the middle on the back wall. So I'm worried we can't get to it. It's all completely new so I'm thinking the plumber has not installed it correctly?? Do you think that's probably it? We've already had to call him back as he had plumbed the hot & cold taps the wrong way round (hot on right) and the toilet was leaking! My mind is telling me to ditch him and get someone else round. Not sure if any decent plumber would take on someone else's bodge job?
Any thoughts / suggestions much appreciated as my husband was suggested smashing a hole in the other side of the wall - yes he was having a stressful meltdown!!! Thanks
