Radiator BTU Required for 2 Bedrooms

Evening all
When i bought my house, they split 1 bedroom into 2 smaller ones but left the radiator where it was which means its outside the bedrooms. After 20yrs i have decided to sort this out as its now rented by my son. The room sizes are bedroom 1 8ft L x 8ft W 8ft H, bedroom 2 12ft L X 8ft W X 8ft H. each bedroom has a window roughly 3ft x 4ft and double glazed. both have 2 outside walls. Can someone tell me what BTU radiators i need as different sites give totally different btu's.
Would fitting higher BTU radiators be better if i used thermostatic valves.
thanks
