Towel rail leaking

by mikeyd193 » Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:51 pm

I am trying to fit a towel rail. I bought the valves seperately. One side is OK. The other side seems to strip the PTFE tape off as I screw it into the body of the towel rail and however hard I try there is a slight leak. I Have tried different amounts of tape and made 4 attempts. Are there any tips to get a water tight seal ?

You have to put PTFE tape on, in the direction of the thread. Clockwise around the radiator valve tail.

I was wrapping it in the right direction but it was still being stripped off.
Got hold of some liquid ptfe and this seems to have done the job.

Thanks anyway.
