Very Poor Flow From Bath Shower Mixer Tap

We have a bath shower mixer tap but the flow from the shower is very poor and difficult to control temperature. I am guessing our water pressure is very low - we have a traditional boiler and hot water tank with a cold water tank in the loft. Can anyone recommend a tap that would provide a better shower experience? Many thanks.
