Can hot Water Tanks be Installed in the Bathroom? All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

We’re about to move into a house and the hot water tank and associated electrical are in a bedroom cupboard. Do regulations allow them to be in the bathroom? There is a empty cupboard at the end of the bath, totally partitioned off. Could I move the tank in there or are there regulations to prevent this? It’s my opinion that as long as it doesn’t beak any part p regulations for electrics that it should be ok but wondered why the previous people didn’t have it in there already. Thanks in advance

I lived in a house , I left 1982 though, , built by a reputable builder, and the airing cupboard was in the bathroom with the associated hot and cold water tanks. It had an immersion heater too complete with switch but was normally heated by the gas boiler situated directly beneath the tanks. My wife disliked it as she reckoned condensation would drip from the cold tank above onto dry washing stored in the airing cupboard.
