Edwardian Flat Loft Cold Water Tank Ballcock

Ballcock valve leaking so I intended to replace the mechanism i.e.valve and ball with a part two version. Bought the part thinking all these are standard as every example I've seen on the web has a male connector.

Unfortunately I found that my very old tank had a mechanism with a female connector. I have been unable to source such a replacement. Anyone know somewhere I can get one?

Cheers,
Len

Hi Len

Do you have any images of the existing one?

I do. I've taken the arm from a new part one device and replaced the washer. The old valve operates pretty much like a modern part one device except that the plastic cone thing which rests against the washer when closed is not present. A metal equivalent is a solid part of the water inlet pipe i.e.the pipe ends with a brass item soldered to the lead pipe. The brass item includes an inline valve to shut off water flow when working on the system.
