Relocate a radiator without draining?

I have been led to believe that i can relocate a radiator without draining down the system simply by bunging up the header tank and the vent pipe to create a vacuum.

The problem i have is that i can't get my head around the fact that when i cut the VERTICAL pipes that the vacuum will be lost and water will pour out??

Can someone put my mind at rest??

p.s. it is the last radiator on the system, and i am also trying to avoid freezing the pipes.

cheers
