Fitting mixer shower to un-balanced system

Hi,
I just bought a Mira Atom ERD thermostatic bar shower on the basis that it works with "all water pressures" but now that I've opened it up and read the instructions it says it doesn't work with un-balanced supplies.

We've got a gravity fed hot feed and a mains cold feed (two tanks in the loft - one for rads and one for the cylinder - cold water pressure way higher than the hot).

Do I need to fit some sort of valve to equalise the pressures?

Also, is it ok to use compression fittings in the wall? ...I've done some soldered joints when moving radiators and fitting new sinks a few years back but for me (as a person that doesn't do this every day) my ability to tighten a nut is probably more consistent than my ability to solder a joint.

Hi dazzathedrummer
This is not recommended but you could try fitting an adjustable pressure reducing valve in the cold supply.
Compression fitting are fine in the wall.
