New bathroom sink and monoblock mixer tap noise

Hi,

We've recently had a new sink fitted in the bathroom with a monoblock mixer tap and it is extremely noisy, kind of like a blowtorch sound and you can hear it all over the house. It's much worse on half open and when it's fully open the noise goes away (almost). Cold water is really bad, hot not so much.

We are on a combi boiler. Previous tap a mixer too, but copper pipes straight into the tap. New setup is isolators on hot and cold then flex tails into the tap.

Does anyone have experience of what mighht be causing this and what can be done to stop the noise?

Much appreciated!

Hi launce
There are two checks needed. What is your pressure at the tap and what is the specified working pressure range for the tap.

Thanks for responding. The tap allows up to 5 bar. I did consider mains pressure and whether a PRV next to the stopcock might help. Whats the most accurate way I can measure pressure? Do I need a specialist piece of equipment?
Thanks again.

Hi launce
Probably worth buying a pressure reducer (with gauge) and fitting this just after your mains stopcock. The problem may be with the new tap but you must eliminate high mains pressure in case this is the issue.
