My new build house has pressurised heating system.
I noticed there is occasional tiny leak from lower gate valve at heating pump.
After pump stops working ,couple hours later Lower gate valve leaks a little water only and stops.
If I need to drain system to change gate valve in near future how we meant to drain system?
There’s no drain valve on any radiators.
There are only two drain valves connected to hot/cold pipes in hot water cylinder cabinet and two drains valves connected to hot/cold pipes under kitchen sink near mains cockstop. Any ideas would be much appreciated.I just want to be ready with knowledge before calling plumber.
Thank you

Hi andyg1
If the valve is leaking around the spindle it’s an easy job to repack the valve using ptfe tape.
The developer should be called back to replace the valve if this has to be done.\

Thank you Stoneboy.
What about drain valves.Should one be attached to radiator. There are only two in Cylinder cabinet attached to hot/cold pipes and two in the kitchen near the mains on cold/hot pipes. How we will drain system in future if needed?

Hi andyg1
Drain valves are a nuisance - after a few years the rubber washers perish. Much easier to undo a radiator valve and drain from there.

Thank you again Stoneboy.
As long as there is no problem then I’m fine with it.
