Connecting a plastic pipe to a metal pipe for outside tap

by b0bnbev » Sat Mar 20, 2021 1:19 pm

I'm trying to connect a piece of plastic pipe to a metal pipe for my outdoor tap (see picture). I've tried a plastic push fit connector put it pops off the metal pipe whenever I turn on the water. What type of connector should I use? Thanks

Hi b0bnbev
What you have should work, you will need to use a rotary pipe slice on the end of the copper pipe so that a decent chamfer is formed. Apply so grease to the cut end and push hard to get the plastic coupler to seat properly.
