Hi, a plumber came today to replace a faulty component in my boiler as we have no hot water. In trying to remove the faulty component which was seized up, he damaged two other components which are now leaking and now also need replacing. He was unable to remove the initial component. He went away and will telephone me with quotes for the other two parts that I now need. Can you please tell me who is liable for these other parts? Advice welcome.

Hi rosey53,
You are in a very difficult position and you have my sympathy.
Whenever a piece of equipment is worked on there is always the possibility of additional components needing replacing.. I assume your plumber is not part of a larger organisation eg British Gas, or an approved engineer from your boiler manufacturer.
I suggest you cut your losses, forget the original and contact one of the above organisations for help. Ok it will undoubtedly cost more but you will have a better support network for help.
