Plastic vs copper for pipes to radiators

Hi guys. I'm getting the radiators installed in my property now and I'm struggling between plastic and copper pipes to radiators. I've asked 2 plumbers and they said opposite opinions. The first one said only copper pipes is allowed into radiators, and the second plumber agreed to install plastic ones. Is there a difference in terms of safety and durability? Is the first plumber being too conservative or the second one negligent?

Looking forward to your opinions, ta

Frank

Hi frankey,
If you look at the spec for speedfit they suggest plastic pipe is not used within 2m of a boiler. Plastic into radiators will be fine but if the pipes come out of the floor it may be better to use short lengths of copper.
