Mounting column radiators without inserts

by Peaston » Mon Mar 21, 2022 12:04 pm

Hi there. I recently
Purchased 3 column radiators. The mounts and feet do not have any plastic / rubber insert. When I had the plumbers in to fit yesterday they warned the metal on metal contact is not advised. I’ve been tasked with trying to find inserts but not having much luck other than some ones on Amazon that are too small. Still waiting on reply back from Victoriaplumbing as well. The thickness of the metal is about 1cm.

Is it always advised to have the plastic / rubber mount inserts? We have column radiators upstairs in our house without then, don’t notice any movement or clicking. Any other things that could he used as a substitute?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi peaston,
Depends on the type of bracket but if they are the arm type use some small bore plastic pipe split down the length.
