Replacing waste hopper

by APDIY » Sun Aug 14, 2022 7:20 pm

Hi
I have a downpipe with a hopper that the bath and wash basin waste run into. Is it ok to replace this with 110 soil pipe as this will be easier to run kitchen sink waste into. It I connected to the same drain as the existing soil stack and I would extend up with a vent etc.
Thanks for any advice.

I should also add that the current pipe runs into an open gully which I plan to remove, this already needs to be repaired due to damage excavating for a patio. I have a suspicion that the existing pipe contains asbestos, the house is from the 1940s.
