I recently moved into a property and the shower only works when set on a specific temperature of around the middle or it cuts out. I phoned the salamander technical line and they went through all the checks of if I have enough water pressure, Surrey flange fitted, cleaned both shower and pump filters, etc. Everything passed the only things they said was the inlet hoses are bent passed 15 degrees so could be causing restriction and drawing in air. Also the pump could be worn out due to not being used for a long period of time as the previous tenant wasn’t home very often and a few months were spent renovating the property and shower wasn’t in use. My question is what is the best resolution because I don’t want to spend money on a new pump if not necessary. Do the hoses look that bent to be causing such an issue? If I did have to change the pump could I swap like for like or would you recommend altering pipework to prevent same problem later on down the line? (Pump is under bath as not enough room in airing cupboard)

Hi re5675,
Suggest you test whether the compressed flexible pipe is the issue. You could buy a longer standard flexible or buy one of the Salamander anti vibration couplers and see if the cranked end allows for a less distorted bend.

Thanks for the suggestion would you mind sending link to what your referring to please. How would longer flexi hose help because it would still be at same angle? Judging by the pictures would you say it’s likely to be that issue?

Hi re5675,
If you use a longer bend this could be installed with a bigger bend radius so the pipe would not fold. Have a look on the web site that fixes screws at salamander couplers you will have to decide between 15 and 22 mm and whether they will improve the folding issue.
