Leak- allegedly repaired but getting bigger

Hello, on Sunday night I noticed a damp patch on my ceiling. I am on the ground floor. Reported it to the agent of the flat above and they sent a plumber on Tuesday and stated they had found a leak in some boxes in pipes and fixed it. It’s now Friday morning and the water again is still growing. Put marks on it and it’s gone over all of them. They are saying it’s repaired and I need to get a leak detection if not happy. I think likely there is still a problem but not sure if any residual water would continue to make it grow. Would a stain be getting bigger 3 days after repair if there was residual water or is it likely still leaking? There can’t be that much water as the stain came Sunday and was “fixed” Tuesday. Please advise.

Hi ribena99,
Assuming the leak is from pipe work serving the flat above it is their responsibility to trace and correct the leak and to make good your flat.

Thank you, I thought so but wasn’t sure. It’s still growing too. Poor relationship so battle ahead! Thanks again.

Hi ribena99,
Take images of the stain every day so you have a record - the images will have the date embedded. Don’t let the agents fob you off, if necessary ask citizens advice bureau.
