Selecting Shower Valves

Hi,
I have been shopping for shower vales and trim for some time now. Does any one have a place where I can find valves and its related trim for showers. The problem that I'm having is finding a site that shows you the valve and the option to select trim that will fit. I would like delta, moen, american standard, or phfischer. I'm under the impression that not all moen trims will accommodate any moen valve?
