Hot water only luke warm

by shanra » Mon Nov 12, 2007 11:57 am

Hi,

I have a glo worm boiler which heats our water and central heating and a new (2 yrs old) hot water tank.

The problem I have is that over the last few weeks, the water is getting cooler and cooler. The central heating is heating up OK and the boiler is working.

I have the water on for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening and it is lukewarm at best.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

your hot water tank should have a thermostat strapped to it. is that loose? or perhaps it's kaput (but then I would expect no hot water).

or

your 3 way valve is not working properly and the hot water is not getting diverted to the tank. feel the pipe going to the tank, does that get warm? the 3 way valve has a manual override. if you use that, do you get hot water?
