Is connecting into the hot water supply to create an outside tap against any Water Regs etc?

Ive been thinking this would be useful for me to save me walking through the house with a full bucket when washing the car.

As long as i put a check valve on i cant really see the problem with doing it.

A tap is a tap.

They’re no reason why you can’t have an outside hot water tap.

But I do think you’re the first person in 20 years to ask me about it.

Don't understand why they are not more popular. I use one for my pressure washer and filling the paddling pool.

Hi bonzo,
Love the idea, But i'd suggest that when installing it, you connect service/cut off valve inside your property. So you can isolate from inside and no pranksters can turn it on while you not about. Hate to think that outside tap for one reason or another is left on or leaking and wasting all that hot water and your money too.

Yeah fitting an isolation valve would be a very good idea. Cheers.
