Curing low pressure in cold water system

We draw our domestic water by electric pump from an underground culvert in the garden. A new washing machine is playing up - apparently because the water pressure is below half a bar. Is there an economical way to pressurise the cold water feed from the tank in the attic to overcome this?

An ideal solution would be to use a redundant power shower booster pump. I use a couple of old beer pumps which produce the same pressure (1 - 2bar).
A shower pump has an integral detector which when the wash machine starts, senses the flow, and will start pumping and stop as soon as the machine is full.
