radiators with trv at the top

Hello,
I live in a house with concrete floors, and the ground floor radiators are fed by pipes coming down the wall from above. Each radiator has a feed pipe to the thermostatic valve which is at the top of the radiator, the return pipe is at the bottom, the pipe runs from here back up the wall.
My question is, I want to re-route the pipes and replce the rads, but when I reconnect, is it really necessary to have the trv at the top? or can I have both valves at the bottom, like every other central heating system I've ever seen!
Thank you

Yes you can extend the pipes and fit both valves to the bottom of the new radiators.

Thanks

Thank you htg engineer.
But now I've got no more excuses....I'll have to tell the wife I can start the job now.
Thanks
