Pressure vessel

Hi, my husband and I moved house late last year and have been puzzle by a red, kettle-type device under the stairs. It has one pipe going into it which gets hot when the heating is on. We have reason to believe that it is a pressure vessel but we're not really sure what this does or if this is needed for our central heating (we have just had a new condensing boiler installed). Also we're not sure whether the vessel is contributing to heating problems we are still having (a couple of our downstairs radiators aren't heating up despite having the valves etc being checked and changed)

Can anyone help?

NEW BOILER, NEW RAD VALVES!!!

DID THE RADS HEAT UP AFTER INSTALLATION OF NEW BOILER?

IS THE NEW INSTALLATION UNDER GUARANTEE?

GET THE INSTALLER BACK TO CHECK THE INSTALLATION OVER AGAIN.

SOME INSTALLER THIS, TO HAVE LEFT THE SYSTEM IN THIS CONDITION!!!
