when the toilet has been slushed, as the cistern refills their is a very loud noise. it is an old water inlet valve, so i wondered if i changed this would it help keep the noise down.

but on the other hand it feel like the walls are shaking. so maybe some instulation unders the house on pipe.

can anyone tell me and suggestions or if they have heard of this before.

Hi

I had the same problem, change the ball cock system, a plumber told me it is grit in the water valve chamber.

Am i right in saying it vibrates untill the water as refilled and it can make a number of really weird noises.

Hope this is of some help.

P. S. DONT FORGET TO TURN OFF THE WATER.

Redkev,

The noise is just the vibration coming from faulty ball valve resonating down the rest of the pipework. Had the same problem with ball valve in CWSC in loft.

Changed it our for Fluid Master Side Entry Float VAle and problem disappeared.

sounds like pipe hammer, due to scale in your pipes. Not much can be done, except to replace the pipework

Might be right best knock down the whole house and start again!

ho hum.... lol.

what I am saying, it cant be cleaned out with chemicals, to descale the pipes.

It would have to be replaced... or change every ball valve in the house, to ensure they are all good..
