I had the same problem a few weeks back. In the end I decided to lower the soil pipe by 2 inches....a messy job but well worth the effort At first I thought about raising the toilet but decided it would look daft.
Good luck

Hi there, have to tried using an off set pan connector, you may get the height difference using one of these.

Thanks for the info on soil stack dilema. Put a new floor in 18mm chipboard floor covered with lamiate tile's worked a treat. Another question for you. I have been asked to put a bathroom in to a bedroom and they want the soil stack inside the house not out side. are there any bylaws that govern taking a soil stack out through a wall under the damp proof coarse and connecting to existing soil run in the garden, and bylaws around putting a bathroom in.

PTMD,
Not sure on regs on soil stack, but you we need to notify local building control anyway as you are putting in a "NEW INSTALLATION" so you can ask them at that time.
Hope this helps
