Bar Mixer Showers/Combi Boiler

I'm putting a shower into my house and wondered if someone could help me.
I want to put a mixer shower in and I have a combi boiler heating system. I was all set on putting a bar valve type mixer in but have been advised by my trade supplier that there is a possibility it won't work properly with a combi boiler and so should consider a more traditional type exposed or concealed mixer. As these are generally quite a lot more expensive could anyone tell me whether I'm worrying needlessly
