QUOTE FOR REPAIR

HI

I HAVE HAD A SURVEYOR INSPECT THE PROPERTY. THERE IS WATER INGRESS TO THE BEDROOM WITH DAMP STAINING TO THE WALL. GUTTERING HAD BEEN LOOKED INTO BY ROOFERS BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. WATER DISCHARGES DOWN THE OUTSIDE WALL BRIDGING THE CAVITY, ALLOWING MOISTURE ON THE INNER SKIN.

I HAVE HAD A ROOFER'S OPINION WHO FEELS INSERTING A HIGH LOAD FELT TO BOTH FRONT AND REAR OF THE PROPERTY SHOULD RECTIFY THE ISSUE. THE LENGTH OF THE ROOF IS ROUGHLY AROUND 20 FEET ONE WAY.

HE HAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF 780 POUNDS FOR THE JOB WHICH INCLUDES MATERIALS
DOES THIS SOUND REASONABLE?
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. MANY THANKS

CALLED UP INSURERS WHO SURVEYED DAMAGE AND SUGGESTED SORTING OUT WHAT THEY FELT WAS CONTRIBUTING TO DAMAGE WHICH SEEMED TO BE GUTTERING.
INSURANCE WOULD COVER INTERNAL DAMAGE BUT NOT THE GUTTERING.

Without seeing it, I can only advise that it's unlikely to be the guttering.
It does sound like the felt that needs replacing. You can get breathable felt or Eaves closure. £780 does sound alot, unless he uses scaffold etc. It can be done off a ladder.
hope this helps

Thank you Tim.
I have got 2 quotes for the job. The guy who quoted 780 was planning on scaffolding while a lesser quote of 475 was using a ladder.
