Hi guys just a bit of advice please, The weather boarding on my house is in pretty poor condition. Ive had an awful lot of work done mostly by my self this is the last thing that needs urgent attention. But im out of cash so wish to do it myself. The sofits are good (some sort of fibre board) but the weather board needs replacing. Is it simply a matter of removing old board and replacing. I dont want plastic, I would like stained wood board. or do i have to mess about removing first row of concrete roof tiles. Can a fairly handy bloke do this or is it expert territory for some reason im only likely to find out once i start pulling off the old boarding.

ocean,
I guess you are talking about replacing the facias. This is easiest with the first row of tiles removed but they will probably be nailed or clipped. When you fit the new facia use a facia vent along the top of the new facia - this will stop wet rot on the top edge of the facia.
