I will be building a new shed and I am thinking about using a metal roof on it. If all goes well with the installation I might consider using it the next time my home needs a new roof. So what is your opinion of a metal roof, would like to hear pros and cons.

Don't see why not on the shed except it may cause condensation.
From the second part of your question, re-roof your house, I am assuming you are not in UK as metal roofing is a no no, tiles or slate only. I've seen metal roofing done in France but overlaid with boarding then tiles.
