Hi,
i am not sure if i am going mad! but i am just in the planning stage of an extension & wondered if its possible to join a roof with 2 different pitches.
The existing bungalow is a simple 8x11 met oblong with gable ends & a 7.3 pitch. And the extension will have a lower pitch. Can you see any problems matching the roofs up. ???

It is possible to join different roof pitches but only if you use lead in the valley and ridge/hip tiles on the hips.

This is the normal method for most tiles anyway.

The only real problem arises if you have plain tiles (the small 10.5 x 6.5 inch) on the roof. Sometimes valley tiles and bonnet hips are used with these but it must be the same pitch for these to work but you can still use these tiles if you specify lead for the valley and hip tiles for the hips.

The same method will apply if slates are used on the roof.
