Cutting Truss to Open for Fanlight or Skylight

I think it's termed 'fink' style trusses can I cut a truss to open for fanlight /skylight. Trusses 16" -18" centres variable I need to cut centre truss of three. If it can't be cut then it will have to show using top hung window. It's to vent bedroom and add natural light. Had local loft shop look saw trusses and walked away can't touch truss roof.
