Fitting soffits against windows

by NlP » Mon Mar 22, 2021 8:04 pm

Hi all
We are in the process of having our facias, soffits and gutters capped and have a question regarding the soffits. When we look out of our upstairs windows you can see the cuts of each soffit board and this hangs down a bit. One of our windows catch on it meaning we cannot open the window which we will tell the roofer about tomorrow.
We would like to know what our options are to tell the roofer to do because this looks really bad and we can’t believe there is no other option.
We are worried that he will say there is nothing he can do as there is nothing to connect the soffits to as he says the boards underneath have asbestos so cannot fix the new ones to it. Also our windows frames go to the roof so there is no space above the windows to seal it with silicone to hid the cut.

Hopefully this makes sense. We have some photos but the site is saying they are too large!!!

Thanks

Hi nip
Suggest you use a solvent based gap filling adhesive to hold the new facials up in place.
See the welcome section-including pictures in your post.
