hi,i have no knowledge on roofs but mine is leaking only when the wind blows up the tiles,we ve had the roof inspected by a roofer and he says the interlocking tiles have to have over lap each other by about 6 inches which they arent at the moment they are overlapping by 2 to 3 inches and the felt is soaking wet underneath,is this true because we ve recently had it renewed about 8 months ago please help

HI, GENERALLY THE HEADLAP OF A TILE{THE DISTANCE WHERE THE TOP TILE OVERLAPS THE THE TOP OF THE PRECEDING TILE} IS 3-4 INCHES DEPENDING MAINLY ON THE PITCH OF THE ROOF. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE PITCH OF YOUR ROOF IS TOO SHALLOW AND/OR THE WRONG TILE HAS BEEN USED.FIND OUT THE PITCH OF THE ROOF AND THE PROFILE AND MAKE OF TILE FOR A MORE DEFINITE ANSWER

If you only had it renewed 8 months ago the guy you should be discussing it with is the guy who renewed it NOT another roofer IMHO.

He did a job - presumably you paid him and he gave you some sort of a guarantee. 8 months on the roof leaks. He needs to come back.
