I have a combi located in a bedroom which my 2 year old son will be moving into shortly. I am planing to sound proof the boiler by boxing it in with two sheets of plaster board with loft insulation packed between the sheets. has any one got abetter idea or experience of doing something similar

I have found that there needs to be a space of 4 or preferable 8 inches between layers, putting loft insulation in between may help. For simplicity thin plywood does the job, very well.

I have a similar problem. When the boiler fires up it a bit like having a rocket blasting off into space. Just kidding - it's not that loud.
I was hoping to find something that just sticks to the wall - something quick and easy to cut and fit into the space but I guess plywood and loft insulation will do.
Is it a fire risk?
