Outdoor Sound proofing wall material choice

I'm in desperate need to build a soundproofing wall between my yard and my neighbours. I talked to different contractors and boiled it down to two options:

1. A standard "sandwich" insulated tin panel wall with "K-Flex Open Cell" rubber based panels glued to it facing the neighbours side.
2. A insulated wall made out of thin metal - filled with 8cm rock wool, with neighbours side being punctured with small holes to increase absorption (protected by a thin sheet of some kind of corse).

Now, first i want to know which material is better for absorption. Secondly i'd like to know what about degradation of the "K-Flex" panels from UV light from the sun.

Please share your opinions,
Thanks!

Hi Hazeyjane,

A couple of questions for you:

What is the issue you are trying to solve?
What separates you from your neighbours now?

You will get different results from an acoustically absorptive barrier and just a dense barrier of decent height.

In terms of the products you talk about, neither sound particularly weather proof and if your absorption gets wet it will not absorb sound any where near as well until it dries. There are specific products for outdoor absorption out there, but I am not sure that is what you need. Perhaps provide some more information.
