Hi all,can anyone advise please?
I am trying to stop the noise (Hi-fi) that I MAKE and travels through the separating wall between and next door. I am about to soundproof the offending wall which has a staircase along it. 6m in TOTAL length including up the staircase. Options because of width issues are either :-
1 Insulation fixed directly to the wall, maybe JCW RR20 with dual layer glued accoustic plasterboards?
2 A the usual brackets and the strips decoupled from the wall, and the same plasterboards with a mass loaded vinyl, tecsound100 for example between.
The staircase itself and under the cupboard will obviously need some attention,
The fact I am trying to stop MY hi-fi noise from annoying the neighbours, may alter how things are usually done ie stopping the noise coming from the neighbours.
Because hi-fi noise has some low frequency bands, I'm not sure if the direct to wall JCW route would work?
Hope someone can help, thanks
