broken double glazed roof window

ok i just need to know if it is possible for a double glazed roof window to brake on its own ? i got home yesterday and there were glass on the
carpet! i discovered that the double glazed roof window has broken on the inside with the outside still intact???????????? i was at work all day and nobody at home all day?????? any answers :?:

It is possible for toughened glass to shatter unexpectedly. It is caused by either a manufacturing fault or by minor damage during installation. If the glass is not annealed properly or an edge is chipped when being built, the stress can cause the glass to fail.

If the window is new and still under warranty, it is worth taking it up with the supplier as they may repair it free of charge.

Yes it is. If the temperature differentials between inside and outside are high and the panel is a veeeery snug fit in the frame then its quite possible for this to happen.
